Thursday, March 5th, 2026
We will be transferred to Reynosa´s airport. So far, our flight is scheduled to leave early morning! Then we will proceed to the little town of Ajijic, where we are to enjoy lunch! Known to have maybe the best weather in the world (or second best, according to National Geographic), Ajijic is home to the largest population of retired USA citizens living in Mexico, with almost 20,000 residing around Chapala Lake. Finally, one more stop in Chapala for your first souvenirs and we will be off to Guanajuato.

Today, we will be doing a walking city tour of the City of Guanajuato. There are several options for late afternoon/evening including The “callejonadas” stand out for their warm, bohemian atmosphere; they bring the colonial history of Guanajuato to life through dances, songs, and legends.

Sunday, March 8th, 2026
Early after breakfast, we will visit San Juan de los Lagos. We will arrive in time to hear mass at the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan de los Lagos. We will have time to have lunch and some time for shopping before returning back to Guadalajara.

Monday, March 9th, 2026
Guadalajara is the capital city of the State of Jalisco, and it is home to almost 5.3 million inhabitants (metropolitan population, that is). After breakfast, we will be walking through the historic district to see some of the magnificent buildings. We will get acquainted with the four squares that shaped the downtown area. The Cathedral, City Hall, Governor’s Palace and Degollado Theatre. Hidalgo “San Juan de Dios Market” will provide us with a great selection of leather goods, handcrafts and candles. Then, we will go to nearby San Pedro Tlaquepaque, a fine artisans district with a great selection of restaurants for lunch.

Tuesday, March 10th, 2026
The included breakfast will be a great way to start our journey! Tequila is the name of the town that we will visit. Blue agave is the plant used to make that famous fierce drink, and today we will learn all about it: from plantlet to perfectly distilled and aged spirit. Our tour will provide us with great picture-taking and possibly the chance to watch the performance of “Voladores de Papantla”: a thrilling group of men performing atop a pole about 70 feet tall. After lunch, we will have an opportunity to stroll the town of Tequila, before returning to Guadalajara. Tonight, you may want to try the fine cuisine of our hotel´s restaurant, or try “La Chata”, a famous Mexican cuisine eatery just 3 short blocks from our hotel, or perhaps “Café Madrid”, within walking distance.

Wednesday, March 11th, 2026
Today we will experience the wonderful opportunity to visit MUSA: Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara. The building which is hosted is a lovely example of Neoclassic style, and it was conceived to be the State Congress of Jalisco. José Clemente Orozco, the well-known mural painter, made some of his art at this museum, and the quality of its exhibits is outstanding. Then, your guide will lead a walking tour in the vicinity, The rest of the afternoon will be at your leisure to explore.

In the early morning, we will be transferred to catch our flight back to Reynosa and then to Hidalgo´s bridge. The memories of this tour are not to be soon forgotten!
THIS TOUR INCLUDES: transfers from Hidalgo Bridge – Reynosa´s airport – Hidalgo Bridge, airfare Reynosa – Guadalajara - Reynosa, 7 hotel nights, complimentary bottled water in vehicle, 6 breakfasts, A/C motor coach or Van type vehicle, licensed bilingual tour guide, admission to Tequila distillery.
NOT INCLUDED: admissions to attractions or museums (other than the ones clearly described as included in the above paragraph), tips to waiters at any meal. Gratuities to tour guide are not included. We strongly recommend setting aside a minimum of $8-10 dollars per person, per day, for your tour guide. You will find that your guide is very knowledgeable, professional, helpful and a great host. Besides, he will always be on call to care for you in every aspect you let him know. Gratuities to bus driver are not included either.
Suggested tip for breakfast waiters is $2 USD per person or 40 pesos; for bellboys $1.50 per person or $30 pesos, and for maids consider $2 USD or 40 pesos per room, per night.
NOTE: The cost of the Mexican Immigration Permit to travel into Mexico (charged by Mexican authorities and obtainable at the Mexican air or land ports of entry), beyond the 20 mile allowed distance, is about $50 USD, and it is not included in the tour tour price!
