Day 1 — Monday, November 23, 2026

McAllen • Reynosa • Mexico City • Basilica of Guadalupe • San Miguel de Allende

Once the group has assembled at the designated meeting point in the McAllen area, we will begin our journey with a direct flight from Reynosa to Mexico City (CDMX).

Upon arrival, we will travel by private transportation to the northern part of the city for a visit to the magnificent architectural complex of the Basilica of Guadalupe. Following lunch, we will continue our journey to the beautiful colonial city of San Miguel de Allende.

Day 2 — Tuesday, November 24, 2026

San Miguel de Allende — Historic Center

Following breakfast, we will explore the historic center of San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage destination renowned for its remarkable colonial architecture and artistic heritage.

As we walk through the city, architecture dating from the 16th through the 19th centuries will provide countless opportunities to admire the city's beauty and capture memorable photographs.

Our morning sightseeing will include the Parish Church of San Miguel Arcángel, Casa del Mayorazgo de la Canal, Allende House Museum, Parish Church of San Francisco, Oratory of San Felipe Neri, and El Jardín, among other notable landmarks. We will also have time to explore the local artisan market and discover some of the region's traditional crafts.

Day 3 — Wednesday, November 25, 2026

Sanctuary of Jesús Nazareno • Dolores Hidalgo

After breakfast, we will visit the renowned Sanctuary of Jesús Nazareno, an extraordinary 18th-century architectural masterpiece often referred to as the “Mexican Sistine Chapel” because of its spectacular interior artwork.

We will then continue to the Pueblo Mágico of Dolores Hidalgo, historically recognized as the birthplace of Mexico's Independence movement. The town is particularly known for its Talavera pottery, rustic woodwork, and remarkably creative ice cream flavors, which may include combinations such as chicharrón, tequila, avocado, mole, shrimp, and nopal.

Dolores Hidalgo is also the birthplace of José Alfredo Jiménez, one of Mexico's most celebrated composers. He was born only a few streets from the location where the famous “Cry of Independence” was proclaimed.

After our visit, we will return to San Miguel de Allende.

Day 4 — Thursday, November 26, 2026

La Gruta Hot Springs • Guanajuato Wine Country

We will enjoy a relaxed morning before departing for La Gruta, a beautiful thermal springs destination near San Miguel de Allende.

This morning will be dedicated to relaxation and rejuvenation. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the warm thermal waters and, for those interested, experience the famous thermal-water jet inside the covered area.

We will return to the hotel for a meal before continuing to one of the premier vineyards in Guanajuato State. There, we will learn about the winery, its winemaking traditions, and the production process.

After our vineyard visit, we will return to San Miguel de Allende, where the remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure.

Day 5 — Friday, November 27, 2026

San Miguel de Allende • Teotihuacan Region • Acolman • Mexico City

After breakfast, we will depart San Miguel de Allende and begin our journey toward Mexico City.

We will stop for lunch near the archaeological area of Teotihuacan. Although our itinerary does not include entry into the archaeological site or its museums, we will enjoy a scenic drive through the surrounding area.

We will also make a brief visit to the former Convent of San Agustín de Hipona in Acolman, in the State of Mexico. Dating from the first half of the 16th century, this remarkable complex provides an important glimpse into the history of evangelization and colonial architecture in Mexico.

Upon arrival in Mexico City, we will check into our centrally located hotel. Our guide will then lead an orientation walk through the surrounding area, allowing us to become familiar with our location and its nearby attractions.

Day 6 — Saturday, November 28, 2026

Mexico City — Historic Center & Templo Mayor

After breakfast, we will explore the historic heart of Mexico City and visit the Templo Mayor Museum, which preserves the remains and archaeological treasures associated with one of the most important structures of the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan.

Throughout our walking tour, there will be numerous opportunities for photography and sightseeing, including views of the National Palace, Metropolitan Cathedral, Palace of Fine Arts, Church of San Francisco, Latin American Tower, National Museum of Art, Old Palace of Mining, and Postal Palace, among other historic landmarks.

Following the tour, we will return to our hotel by private transportation. The remainder of the afternoon will be available to relax, prepare for our departure, and enjoy our final evening in Mexico City.

Day 7 — Sunday, November 28, 2026

Mexico City • Reynosa • McAllen

We will depart very early for Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City for our return flight to Reynosa.

Upon arrival in Reynosa, we will continue by transportation to the Best Western Plus McAllen Airport Hotel, where we expect to arrive around midday.

At this point, our extraordinary journey through the cultural, historical, and scenic treasures of Mexico will come to an end. We will say our goodbyes and reunite with our families and friends, bringing home wonderful memories and stories from our adventure together.

It does not include tips for the tour guide (for whom a minimum of 8-10 USD per passenger per day is suggested), nor the tip for the transport driver.

NOTE: The cost of the Mexican Immigration Permit to travel into Mexico (charged by Mexican authorities and obtainable at the air or land ports of entry), beyond the 20-mile allowed distance, is about $42 USD, and it is not included in the tour price! Tour participants must get this permit prior to the tour departure date.
