Itinerary

DAY 1
What a tour you are about to experience! Today we’ll travel south! Once we are transferred to Reynosa´s airport, it will be a 90-minute flight to Mexico City! As soon as we gather our luggage, our coach will be taking us to Puebla City! We will be arriving in time to have a walking tour and get acquainted with the downtown area! You won´t believe the colonial architecture built in this area, dating back to the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries.
Overnight  in Puebla

DAY 2

Good morning! After breakfast, we will be walking through some of the historic district in this city, founded in 1531. We will be able to see the cathedral, the zocalo, 5 de Mayo Street, Santo Domingo Temple, and the chapel of the Holy Rosary! Then we go to Calle de los Dulces to get a taste of the famous candies made in Puebla, as well as mole and Talavera tile and pottery! Then, we will go to visit nearby San Pedro Cholula! Get to see the huge religious compound of San Gabriel Arcangel and then walk to see one of the strategies that Spaniards exercised for evangelization in the American continent: the construction of a parish atop the prehispanic temples!
Time to go back to Puebla City and maybe you feel like exploring the handicrafts market known to locals as El Parian!
Overnight in Puebla

DAY 3

Are you ready to see more of Mexico? Well, it´s time to go to Taxco, the silver town of Mexico! Our morning road trip will take us very close to the legendary volcanoes Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl! Our route will go close to Atlixco, Tepoztlan, Cuernavaca, and yes, Taxco! We will explore the downtown area by riding taxis, vans, or minibusses because the streets in town are narrow! We will proceed to check in and will get to visit Santa Prisca Parish! The cobblestoned and winding streets will provide you with amazing views and great picture-taking opportunities! If
you are looking for silver shopping, this is the right place: your guide will recommend a selection of places that Viva Tours knows are of great quality and price but remember that you are welcome to explore the rest of the shops in town!
Overnight in Taxco

DAY 4

It will be a morning to continue exploring some more of Taxco and finish our silver shopping! If you are done with silver shops, remember that there is also a nice selection of handcrafts at the local market: pottery, wood, leather, masks, etc., are things to be found here! Besides, you may want to pay a visit to the Humboldt museum (specializing in viceregal art) or probably stroll more of the intricate streets in town, to compose astonishing pictures. After lunch, we will start heading our way to Mexico City!

DAY 5

Our agenda for the day starts with a lovely walk from our hotel to the best-known square in Mexico: El zocalo! Get to see some of the iconic buildings such as the Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Main Aztec Temple (Templo Mayor), the Palace of Fine Arts, the Latin-
American Tower, and more! Then, we will head north to discover one of the most celebrated archaeological sites in Mexico: Teotihuacan! Well known for its famous pyramids to the sun and to the moon, Teotihuacan is a very fine example of development in Middle America, covering a span
that goes from 100 BC - 650 AD. You will have a chance to experience the local museum and also, if you wish, there will be a limited-time opportunity to climb the Pyramid to the Sun! On our way back to Mexico City, we will stop to admire the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe and
soon we´ll be back in our hotel!

DAY 6

Grab your camera and let´s go! this morning we are going to visit the famous; floating gardens of Xochimilco! Your guide will explain a particular system for soil exploitation designated as chinampas. Of course, you will experience a boat ride aboard one of the local; trajineras
Take advantage of the little shops that offer Mexican handcrafts in here and maybe, if lucky enough, you might get to eyewitness the ancient ritual
of the Voladores de Papantla.
Then, off we go to the lovely mayoralty of Coyoacan! You will enjoy both, the festive and peaceful atmospheres that combine and create the perfect setting to walk, standby or sit to participate in the many tourist attractions in the area! The day is not over yet! Have you heard of the National Folkloric Ballet? Yes, unbelievable award-winning dancers and musicians to entertain you
for the night, in a succession of highly spirited performances that have been enjoyed by Presidents and Prime Ministers from all over the world! Ask
your guide about this optional activity and you won´t regret becoming a part of it!

DAY 7

Early morning departure to start our way back home, amigos! Our driver will take us to the airport and we´ll be landing in Reynosa, from where we are to be picked up and taken back to the Rio Grande Valley! We certainly appreciate your decision of participating and enjoy this tour!

NOT INCLUDED: admissions to attractions or museums (other than the ones clearly described as included in the above paragraph), tips to waiters at any meal. Tips for maids at hotels. Gratuities to tour guide are not included. We strongly recommend setting aside a minimum of $8-10
dollars per person, per day, for your tour guide. Gratuities to bus driver are not included either.
In the town of Taxco, the bus is not allowed to navigate the narrow streets, therefore, we will have to take taxis on our own (a taxi accommodates up to 4 people, and the fare is about 60 pesos a trip, about $3.00 dollars. If three people in a taxi share the cost, each one would pay about $1 US
dollar. Only Mexican currency is accepted).

NOTE: The cost of the Mexican Immigration Permit to travel into Mexico (charged by Mexican authorities and obtainable at the air or land ports of
entry), beyond the 20-mile allowed distance, is about $35 USD, and it is not included in the tour price!
